So I have a MP 360 short block in my Cordoba and have been considering a switch to a hydraulic roller cam, the hold up is I don't want to mess with a bronze distributor/oil pump drive. Today a thought hit me, the short block in my car is actually a later magnum block (I basing this on the drilled and tapped bosses in the lifter valley) and I know that the factory wouldn't use a "wear" item like a bronze gear, so mu question is:

Can I use the Magnum engines distributor drive if I switch to a roller cam?

The factory roller cams do not require the bronze dist gear.....

Crane has a new gear that is not bronze for a roller.

Thats right, just used one in a 360 i did with a lunati billet roller cam and have one for my herbert solid roller

True and even better if HYD roller, have your specs round onto an iron core and use the regular gear

Your MP short block is probably NOT a Magnum block but simply a LA roller block.
