I worked on the 318 this past weekend. My new standard for outside work is 40 and above. Anyway, I decided to check the cam and lifters. New about a year ago. All looked good. I poured break in oil on the bits, bolted it together, squirted some petrol in the carb, and fired it up. Did a run around the block. Seems okay to me. This cam and lifters makes more noise than the stock unit. Compression is 150 to 160. We will go North to Alaska later this year.
In May we are going to an interior lake in BC, with the new used 14 foot tin boat. I need to make a wyring harness for the trailer.
