I saw this on YouTube this morning. Anyone near Apple Creek Ohio? It's really close to what I've been looking for.
Asking price is $49500.

Just being picky: The steering wheel doesn't appear to be centered when he is driving straight down the road.

Looks nice in the pictures...worth looking at in person and driving it.

Do they have pictures from when it was being restored?

Looks gorgeous on the outside and interior. As long as the underside and engine bay look the same, I would say that the asking price is in the range of fair. I like the fact that they did not clone it into a RR or change the factory colors. A wheel change and it would appear to be grandma's car.

I’m in at about 40k max. To me 50k is steep. I’m no expert and it’s not a dream car for me . It may be worth it to a person who has been searching for a long time though.

The dealer already answered my email. I asked for receipts and documentation of the restoration. We will talk tomorrow on my lunch break.

I agree with your price assessment, but this checks a lot of boxes for me; 440, AC (although looking like only the compressor is updated), Disc brakes, and I love the two tone green interior!

I tried to do a Hagerty Valuation, but there's no option for a 440. Using a 383 4bbl hardtop valuation is Concours $63,000 and Excellent $37,000. Large difference between #1 and #2 condition. So much for that; not sure either one of those numbers can be considered a good data point for this car.

Thanks for the information. I'm convinced low 40s is probably the correct value. I'm the kind of guy that will pay a little more if I'm confident in what I'm getting as no car is an investment to me. I'll update the thread after I speak with the dealer tomorrow.

Okay I spoke with the dealer. He's a "one man show" dealership that focuses on used cars that cost around 10 grand. The classic car sales are a sideline hobby for him.

This car was purchased by his girlfriend's grandfather in 1993. The grandfather did all the restoration work himself. He's a "Mopar Guy" and tried to use Mopar NOS whenever possible. There's supposed to be a booklet of the restoration, but he doesn't have it. They will look for it. He thinks it's been about 20 years since the car was restored.

The AC retains all stock components except the compressor. Everything on this car functions properly.

The car has been to the Mopar Nats four times; 29th, 31st, 32nd, and 34th.

I need to think about this car and look into travel and time off work.

Those RR and GTX are a lot more car.

I see the Hagerty evaluation at $37K being top for this 318 air car, F5 green, bench, with added 440. Let someone else pay over $40K for it. I doubt he will find many.

Concours takes a lot more money to restore. The number is so high cause you don't see anyone taking a 318 car to concours level. There's no comps. Because no one is restoring on like that because they are not very desirable at that level.

"NOS whenever possible" doesn't hold much weight. 20 years ago in 2005 there wasn't much "possible" to go into the dealer and buy NOS. "Possible" to me means easy and affordable to get. Not much even in 2005 that qualifies for.

How does he know about a booklet for restoration but doesn't have it? To me he doesn't want to show it, but when you buy it he'll give it to you. hmmm

I just don't care for a bench seat column shift.
If you buy a lot of milk then it's great.
But it's not sporty.
I think it really detracts from the value.

You are definitely in the majority of this opinion. Myself I like the column shift as it says grocery getter and enjoy the lower price these cars (should) bring.

Good, it's all in the family...he can forego his normal sales commission to sell this car. :)
I like everything I see in the pictures and video. Have you seen anything this nice lately in the upper $30k range??? Looks like a trip to examine the car first-hand is in order.

Make him an offer of $41k, but don't go more than $44.5k?

$2,100 for enclosed transportation to Tucson?
