Sears is closing stores...

Took a ratchet back and they only replace broken ones with refurbished ones.
Back in the day, when we still had a Sears in Canada, and they still honored a guarantee I took in broken ratchets and they handed me a rebuild kit to fix it myself. That was fine with me.

Yep, the one they offered me (3/4 drive) looked like it had went through a hammermill. I told them, no thanks I wouldn’t put that junk in my toolbox. The manager agreed with me, went into a storage room and found a rebuild kit.

I have a Sears battery charger I bought in '83 and it still works fine. Here in the Northwest you can get Craftsman tools at Ace Hardware and they warrenty ratchets as well. Now I read that Toys-R-Us is also closing its stores. Much like land line phones becoming more scarce too, This is progress, so I hear!

I used to get a new battery for my car for free every year from Sears. --I was hard on my Diehards.:)
