This has been a long time coming. I got it done today at the season opener at my home track in Pro class. Car worked flawlessly all day as well as setting new MPH & ET personal bests in testing. .

Great to hear that you won. Reminds us of what all the hard work is for.

"Long time coming", this wasn't your first win? Congrats, It's getting tougher to gain a win. Competition keeps gettting better and better. Lets see those new bests.

I am very happy for you. Hopefully I’ll have the issues Barney sorted out for the next race. But I must say, running the Mrs. Challenger in sportsman class was fun. Was hoping I’d face my boy in the final in that class but I decided to take a nap in the final four which cost me. Oh well.
See you in a couple weeks!

That was great to watch hats off to you Mike!! That's a lot of tough customers to beat on!

congrats Malex .
Certainly got it moving . Does that mean new tubing on order ;-) ?

Great job sir! Congratulations!
9s in testing, 10s in elims?

Yep. All testing was in the 9’s. Slowed it up and ran eliminations with a 10.01 dial. Changed to 10.00 for the final.

First time parking under the board, have gone deep quite a few times but this was the first. Yes better competition absolutely.

9.83 @ 136 MPH is my new best to date. Same combo from day one when 10.5’s was just a dream.

A congrats much deserved Malex. What's your new ET and MPH breaker? Whats it weigh now?

9.83 @ 136 on test. I’m confident of dipping into the 9.70’s at current weight as the 9.83 was with 5 degrees of timing still pulled out of it. I run it detuned, added lead and lowered RPM shift points to stay above 10.
I’m going to borrow my buds scales soon and get the current weight.

Wow! Great work refining the combo!
And an absolutely gorgeous car in the bargain!

Can I borrow them too, when you're done? Lol. What's your best guess, pre-scaling?

I'm sure it's the start of many more trips to the winners circle. My first win was 1992 Mopar Nationals. Back then they had 12.0 and slower, 11.99 and quicker. We foot braked it to a win running 11.30's winning the "fast" class. For comparison, scaled mine last week, bare car no fuel or driver was 3126lbs. Race ready with me, fuel and safety gear was 3366lbs.

I was up at the top end and really enjoyed your runs. There were some young guys (first time racer’s and buddies watching from the tailgates of their trucks) sometimes waving.

That’s a long career of racing Doug and countless winner circles. My car without driver and no fuel weighs 3150 + or - a couple lbs either way. Once I get it on the scales I’ll know for sure.

My first trip down the 1/4 mile was 2017. In my freshly built street/stripe 64 Belvedere. At ago 60! Making it under the winner’s board at all is a major thing. Haha. Actually I did make 3 passes down the track in 2015, in my parts chaser car. That seriously doesn’t count.
