Anyone sell their car to an overseas country? How does that work? How do you get paid? How do you know it's no scam? Is there a safe/smart way to do this? Buyer wants the car and says it will be paid in full before its collected.....I dont plan on giving anyone my bank info, so how would it get done?

I sold a 69 Charger to a guy in Germany a few years ago. His bank wired the money directly to my bank with no issues. I hear of some that will open another account just for such things to be safe. Definitely get all the money in your hands before the car leaves your possession.

Yeah, I new account may be the way to go......his bank would need my original account in order to deposit I guess, not sure if he'd get that info too.....

I imported 3 cars from USA (Mopars for sure), I live in Brazil... both where paid before collected, but I had to take care, too... I transfered the money to my agent there in USA, and he transfered to the sellers, by wire order. Before this I spoke with the sellers for some days, and ask many pictures. The seller must keep in mind this transaction will took some days. You can ask for the interesed guy to send a pic with your name, for example, to assure he's not a scam.

Ask buyer for a picture with my name?
He is on Facebook, but not much under profile.
Do people actually buy a car from overseas without actually seeing it first? I couldn't do it.

"Ask buyer for a picture with my name?" Yes... wrote in a paper...

"Do people actually buy a car from overseas without actually seeing it first? I couldn't do it." well... living overseas, you should agree the things aren't so easy, as I said before, I spoke for some days to the guys who sold the cars to me, asked for many pictures... 2 of them I found here on FBBO.

Like Hunt2elk said above......I had another account other than my personal account. Money was transferred from the buyers bank into my banks account. Verified the next day by the bank that funds were good. Moved those funds back to my personal account. 3 days later, a transport vehicle came to pick up the car took it to an east coast port and off to Europe.

Ditto. I sold two to a guy in Holland. The seller has all the advantage. I got all the money up front wired into my account & then he made the arrangements to have the car picked up and shipped. The title goes with the car.

If I were overseas, I can't say that I would be that trusting but I was totally honest with him and he was very happy with both vehicles when they got there.

Sounds good......hopefully buyer wont care too much about no title...PITA CT doesn't issue titles to older cars. Although I do have the title from guy I bought from.

Im from Holland and bought a few cars unseen.. always a risk but we cant help it we dont live in the USA lol..
                Always get payment bankwire.. safest.
I even dont think that we can abuse your personal info from your account.. overhere bankwire is just the way to buy and sell.
But make sure you have the money before you let it go.
The title must be clean by the way. Means not sign it or fill in anything on the front of back.. just leave it like it is even if it has another name on it.
If you wanna know more and maybe i can help you send me a PM,
                J.D.

I sold a 65 Coronet to a person in Finland, money sent right to my account first. And he had to make his own arrangements and pay for shipping . If Im not mistakin it was about 3 months before the car landed in Finland That was back in the 80s .

I thought you could ask for a title but to be honest I'm not positive. Like the idea of a separate account and moving money to regular account. Then close the account where seller sent the money.
