Seriously??

We used to play Brain teasers during family car trips with our kids. Those kids always made me feel really stupid.

In all reality if he had to buy the horse any hay or feed, he would have definitely been in the hole!

...or any type of tax, registration or insurance.

It cost $20/week to feed an average size horse. So unless he sold it the same day to the same moron, he lost money

If you refer to the instructions for the IRS Form #1040, I'm sure they have a formula for figuring out how much tax he owes...

I almost got kicked out of school for bringing a Texas Instruments desktop calculator to school...in 1975. We were told not to bring them because we had to learn it in our heads.

I had to same thing over here , 1976 . we were not suppose to bring the time ( last) to school at all

It’s a tough battle these days getting kids to not rely on the tech. Many of my kids’ assignments are on the computer and a calculator (or google) is just a click away.

I can’t imagine trying to go through school with constant access to a computer and the internet. At their age I know I’d be distracted as hell.

Back then, using a calculator was considered cheating. Also, a cheap TI calculator was like 75 bucks, which was big money back in the mid 70's.

I always liked the slide rule. --When the TI calculators came on the scene I recall them not being allowed for math tests but a slide rule was.:realcrazy: I still have my TI and it still works.

My TI Californicator died a few years ago doing simple math..... :(

My go-to calculator for many years was an HP 15C. I liked the reverse logic (example--2-enter 2+ gave 4). The other thing I miss is the tactile feel of the buttons. A proper feel that doesn't require looking at the screen.
It went through the washing machine one day and after drying it out it came back to life to successfully pass a self-diagnosis test but became a fast battery eater.

The guy made $90 with an investment of $70. A 22% improvement.

We weren't allowed to use a calc until the school supplied them.
