Shall we make the Newsboy cap great again?

I aways called them English Racing Caps. I see mostly bald guys wearing them. They're a little more acceptable to wear indoors than other hats. I'm old school cowboy manners. A cowboy hat has several purposes, none of them are indoors. I'm against all hats indoors. Since my hair is extremely long adjustable ball caps don't stay on, they slide off. My cowboy hats stay on but not indoors.

Several ways to spot a real cowboy, one of them is taking your hat off indoors.

If you watch old movies when all men wore hats they immeciately remove their hats when they step indoors. At the senior home where I help out there is a sign that says all men and boys must remove their hats upon entering the dining room.

How do you explain THREE men in a tub together unless they were butt slammers?
A butcher... a baker... a candlestick maker... Is there anyone here of any of these professions ? Is there a commonality that would cause them to be in a tub together ?

The professions are irrelevant.
If three men are naked together in a tub, they are gay. Now sure, there are masculine gay men as well as limp wrist types that sashay across the floor with an extremely effeminate manner. My older brother (RIP) was gay but often looked more manly that I did...

However you feel about these hats, they are a hell of a lot better than a beret! I hate those things & always have!

I was in the Army Reserve when the black berets replaced the field cap. Berets are for Airborne and Special Forces guys. They're not very practical but look cool on them. I never liked mine and preferred the camouflage field cap.

I wasn't including those when I made my statement in post 58. If I recall, the berets special forces had an emblem or something that stood vertical. I am referring to the French style without any front or back & might have a loop to hang it from something. I just never liked them, even on special forces or a Geen Beret folks. They just look cheap!

I didn't mean to imply you included them.

The move to berets for everyone was quite controversial back then. Especially, to those who earned the right to wear a beret as a badge of honor.

I wouldn't wear a beret but some people look good in one.

I had a girlfriend that looked good in a beret. I looked her up a few years ago. We got to talk a bit before she died from cancer.

"The kind you'd find in a secondhand store". Thanks Prince Mince!

A little to metrosexual for my liking/taste
When I 1st bought my
73 v12 XK E Type Jaguar British racing green
saddle tan leather interior
tan droptop
I bought an "obligatory" cotton/wool blend Houndstooth, "brits rally cap"
(I went thru a period of liking & buying different sportscars, many British)
& my youngest sister got me a leather version,
she thought was funny even
(freaken' :gay: as all f--k, like as much as assless chaps would be, in a gay bar),
no freaken' way I was wearing that sh-t, ever
it's not me at all, not even driving a British Icon, that ain't happenen'
she spent a good $$ on it too, like $50+ (?), she gave me the receipt so I could return it...
I took it back to store where she got it, in Concord Sun Valley mall
I got a nice Raiders Jersey :poke: that will actually use/wear

The cotton/wool houndstooth nice 'brits rally cap' it was called, I had bought
I think, I got it at the local Jaguar dealership, place I had to buy parts from
it wasn't cheap either, nothing at a Jaguar dealership is
it wasn't really good in any situation either, didn't stay on well while driving either
it'd poof up a bunch too

it's not a real USA thing
not many men here wear them, not that I see
I think it's more foreign taste deal, European fashion maybe

It useless, in ANY WINDS, so unless I turned it backwards, looked even more goofy IMO
threw it in a back of the car/behind the seat & never wore it again,
went with the car, when sold

I think I wore it golfing 'one time' on Halloween tourney, at the club as 'a joke'
wore nickers & argyle socks too, with white & black golf shoes
The no bill to block glare or the sun, joke was on me, it's useless, bad decision again...
I went most the round without a hat & just wore my sunglasses...

I could do that with a ballcap/truckers cap, fitted cap
It's just not for me/my likings, at all

Yeah, sort of kept the sun off my head, while top down
but no bill to block the sun, like a reg ball cap, I prefer...
I don't wear hats inside so a ballcap, was never any issue for me
I rarely wear hats unless golfing, especially now, I got like 50 of them already,
from about 50 different courses...

I tried it's not for me, at all

to each their own
