I liked them back in the 80's when I was a teen.

Didn't quite get that they were birds and reporters or what "Shoe" had to do with either unless it was a play on "shoo" since the namesake character is a crow.

My mom liked them a lot. Probably because she was a professional proofreader and an equal opportunity critic of the government.
