Does anyone know a source for short 45 degree ceramic plug wire boots? (8mm). I have the pertronix ones but they are too long for many of the locations, they hit the steering components on the driver's side and the fender on the passenger. The back two drivers plug locations on a 440 with the Schumacher short tri y style headers nearly touch the boot. Even the high temp silicone wires eventually deform and I start to get misfires.

Sorry, I can not help you. This is why I advocate small block strokers. Where are all of the guys that say it isn't any harder to change the plugs on a big block? Hopefully they will jump in and magically cure your problem.
Good luck!

Its WAY harder. I just always wanted a 440 big block car so I made one. No regrets. They do make 90 degree ceramic boots. I figured I would try here first in case someone knew where I might find 45 degree shorties.

On my 440 with Schumacher Tri-Ys , A/C, P/S: Taylor #83053 Universal 8.2mm x 135* boots. I tried the Accel Ceramic but the a few terminals pulled off at the first plug change and it was a JOB to repair them. The Taylors work for me and they're WAY cheaper. The 90s won't work on all the cylinders where the 135* do.
