Hi everyone does any one know the best way to repair a tear in an original 1973 -74 Mopar electronic wire spark plug boot, replacement of the cable is not possible, due to expense and being a rare part just to purchase one wire. Unless there are orange straight boot replacements out there that match.

Would silicone high temp gasket maker work in the tear ?

If they are tearing, likely due to age, I would say its time to replace the set anyway!

Or, you can get a set of Accel orange boots from local auto parts store or online.

I did try the gasket maker and put in the tear it was a small tear so it stayed together before I slipped back on the plug I wiped the excess off and you cannot see any of it , it worked ! thanks for the reply. I have to make sure I real am careful when using the puller tool to remove the wires, but right now the plugs are new and the wires are NOS so I have to leave them alone . I have to tell you the material used was not as durable as todays Mopar wire boots or after market. They seem to be very soft. I slipped with puller, I have to admit my mistake, but its fixed and the engine runs excellent, no spark leak. Thanks again for the reply, I will look into the Accel orange boots anyway.
