The rear drum brakes on the 68 Superbee do not seam to be correct. I am following the book but the bottom spring looks out of place. I bought the spring kit twice 3x11 thinking I got the wrong kit but they were both the same. Advise on the next steps
The first two is what I have installed passenger rear. The third one is what I found on both side when I started so I don’t have any other reference.

Thank you. I dont think the bottom spring I have will do that as the “hook” will not hold that way. I will keep messing with it

It looks like the spring needs to be in the larger hole on the brake shoe. I have a great reference pic at home, which I'm not there. I'll try to post it tomorrow, unless someone beats me to it.

Pretty sure these are 11.0 and credit to original poster. These are like the ones on my 70 roadrunner

i removed the spring and used the larger hole but turned the spring 180 which seams to have done the trick. I will get a picture later as right then my back said no more and locked up. Never had this happen before. Getting old is not that much fun.
