I saw the previews when I watched Insidious The Red Door. I had not seen the first, The Nun so I rented it. Not really scary but I learned one interesting fact. The actress that plays the Nun character was in another of my favorite movies for a second. David Lynch's Mulholland Drive. If you've seen it you will never forget the bum behind the restaurant. The actress's name is Bonnie Aarons.

Mulholland Drive.

Why nuns …… of course, to pick on the Catholic religion some more. Why not Muslim women covered head to toe in black?

I agree with you RC. But I think nuns and the catholic religion are an easy target in this day and age. If you made a movie with Muslim women, the social fallout wouldi be the death of the movie.
This is only my opinion.
One more thing, does anyone else think that she is hot as hell in that makeup?

Steve, you see a lot of movies. Have you seen "Sound of Freedom" yet ? I may have missed your review ???

The pic on the left reminds me of third grade.

I will share my scary movie story. When I was 18ish I had a 66 biscayne crew cab. My GF and I met some people at the drive in. They were gonna leave early because they had an early morning thing, so she left with them after the first movie. I am not sure of the first movie (GF being with me) but the second was chainsaw massacre. On the way home I stopped for a pack of smokes. I locked all the doors on the car. I was on my way home and stopped at a stop sign and I **** you not someone tried to get in my passenger rear door. That scared the living **** out of me!! I have replayed that I’m my mind 100s of times. I brushed it off as falling asleep at the sign and having a dream and panicking. Soon after that a cop walked by a woman’s car at a convenience store in the store he asked who’s car it was, then asked who was sleeping in the backseat she said no one. Well someone was in her car. The cop dragged him out and took him to jail. That was when I gave up scary movies. I know I’m a pussy

looks like that broad fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down

I wanted to watch The Sound Of Freedom but I thought it would be too depressing. I tried to be a Christian my whole life but I just couldn't convince my inner self to believe their doctrine and stories. I finally had to be honest with myself.

As far as Catholics go they are certainly not blameless of terrible sins but I don't think that's why they get featured in horror movies. It started with The Exorcist. If you believed in Catholicism you therefore had to believe in demons and exocisim. It lent the story credulity I don't believe in God or demons so therefore these things don't scare me. I'm susceptible to jump scares like everyone but the demon supernatural stuff doesn't phase me any more than stories of werewolves or vampires.

The same goes for Islam. Most Americans don't believe in Islam so scary movies based on the teaching of Islam would not be scary to most Americans.

Having said all that, I think those drag queens promoting their sick Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are sick M-Fers and should run out on a rail.

A little religious background. I went to Lutheran School from kindergarten through 8th grade. We sang lots of hymns, read the Bible, and memorized Bible verses every day. On Sundays, I went to Sunday School and then church. In the summers I went to vacation Bible school. In my professional life, I've worked for a Christain media company. I'll put my Bible knowledge and faith up against anyone at any time. I would get no joy out of shaking your faith but I won't be put down for not believing.

I'm not really into one-upmanship, but I think I am a bigger pussy than you.

One night in the early 2000s I tried to watch The Ring. I only got thirty minutes into it before I had to turn it off and run and jump into bed, pulling my feet up very quickly.

I tried again the next day in daylight hours, but an hour into it I had to switch it off and open the curtains. I put the DVD back into the case and took it back to the rental shop only half watched.

I remember going to a larger town, Bartlesville, OK so we could see The Exorcist. I don't think we were old enough. If was fing scary and still is fing scary today. I remember some of the "Tough Guys" from school were hanging out in the lobby not wanting to go back into the theater. The Ring is very scary too. It's funny when I had to go to the hospital this week the CT tech and I were talking about the scary scene in the MRI from Insidious, The Red Door.

Now as far as just unsettling, watch Blue Velvet. It has a 1968 Dodge Charger in it, but I've always said it is an insane move made by an insane director.

Glad you responded. A film too depressing ? More of an Alarm, to Awaken ALL who are Unaware, or Disbelieving, or Denying the World Wide Crisis of Child Trafficking occurring Now. Then again, some Folks are Content being Entertained, instead of Informed, and Active. Thanks.................

I'm extremely happy the movie is doing so well. Even though I see a lot of movies with my monthly pass I am very anti-woke Hollywood. The only ones I would recommend lately are Kandahar and The Covenant.

I see nothing wrong in going to the movies to be entertained. I remember something the creator of the Veggie Tales Christian kid's videos told me when I was in the business. He said you have to entertain. You can get a sermon on any street corner.
