What are these lifters with the pushrod seat all the way at the bottom?
The bottom is 1 7/8" down from the top

I did a '49 Buick Str-8 and it had lifters like that. Damn PR's were over 13" IIRC...
 
Thought they might be Ford 875 looking at them.

You will need a Long pushrod and depending upon the
head and if A or B engines = It may take some modifications
on the pushrod holes. to clear the long pushrods travel in the head.

I see no reason for the way these are constructed.

Not even for knocking a hell of a lot of weight out of them?
 
Nope, lifter weight to me is not all that critical
compared to the rest of the valve train in my opinion.

If I break a lifter, then the engine goes to hell in a Hand Basket!
