I wonder how many Q5 GTX's were made for 1969? When I tore into the car, and discovered the original color, I decided to keep it, and restore it...the car is almost completely gone...but, I'm stubborn and it's coming back up after going down to nothing, and adding an external skeleton to the car to support it from caving in on itself.

First pic looks like T5, but the second looks like T7

I agree with this statement. Is the car supposed to be Q5 as stated in the original post? If so that would be way harder to find than T5 or T7. I think GTX's look fantastic in the different shades of copper......

Sorry for the confusion, first pic is the GTX with Q5 under some reddish paint crap. The second picture is the Satellite underneath with a close, but custom Bronze color that was stock to the Satellite, I think it was B7? I'd have to look it up on the fender tag. Here's the dash painted in the same color as underneath the Satellite. The third picture is the GTX with it's Q5 color coming to light, and, I must say Q5 is a very pretty color, I found many paint chips under sealants etc, that serve as a basis towards the color regeneration when that day comes...

Hey Darius, Man, those pics you linked me to are awesome! Thanks, I don't know why, but I LOVE to look at metal repair/replacement pics, especially when it's our cars' with new metal, or, repaired metal! I guess it's Artsy Fartsy stuff, and a ton of pride! Here's a few more...I really like how you pulled the inner and outer fenders out back, with the speaker tray intact! This is awesome! I must say, the body is very clean, either it was dipped to strip it, or your Media Blaster did a fantastic job evidenced by the rear qtr/window lower area replacement metal, under the cut-out area was and is very clean!

The following pics are my 69 GTX, it really should be scrapped, but, my stubbornness, and determination has filled my hands up...it's sad that salt is still used in the North East in winter time; thus my GTX. This is before/after the rear right rocker panel, just a section.

This car would be scrapped if I didn't know how to weld, and have my own Media Blasting system!!!

If you have the $$$$$, AMD parts are the way to go. You can damn near build an entire car with the parts they have now. I wish they had the 1/4's, rocker panels, and pillar posts available before I went to all that work butat least I have all solid metal.
I had all the parts media blasted and I am glad I did as it really exposed the rust well and I am not overlooking anything that will bite me later.
What frame connectors are on there? I put the entire XV frame stiffening system on this car.

Oh yes, AMD is indeed the way to go! The frame connectors are home-made stiffeners, they are 2" square tube, 3/16 thick (probably too thick for what I need).

The Q5 was most of the reason I decided to keep this rusty hulk. Now, AMD makes most all replacement panels for this car. Now, I need more $$$$! Cool site, thanks for sharing!!!
