"Some pilots work their whole career to see a MiG up close..."

While we're here....a couple of weeks ago, Saturday Dec 7th. I was loading up some demo'd fencing from my USMC father-in-law's place and at just about 10:55 am (7:55 Hawaii time) a pair of F15s went over, flying low slow laps over the entire city of Fresno. They had to be at about 500' and they passed over our heads numerous times..they'd pass, circle a few times, then move to a different part of town, then come back over again. Any other day it would've just been, "wow awesome!" But knowing why they were doing it gave us both goosebumps..It got us so emotional we couldn't speak to each other for a couple of minutes.
I love when they are doing that.....!

Duke is getting up there these days. You had to be good to take out the MIG's especially without having guns. I would imagine he had them by the time he was out there killin em. If not, he was one of the lucky ones....
If I remember the story right, he got the vietnamese ace with a missile. At one point they were outfitting some of the F4s with a cannon pod attached but I don't think he had one. Could be wrong on that though..that was quite a few years ago!
