Someone else with a manual sunroof car..

Thanks guys.
I thought for sure there would be holes in the wheel wells the hoses should run into.
Nope, these pics are just like how mine runs. Add another item to the list of MOPAR engineering I hate! Dang it, and they go so much perfect!

And I am not joking with you guys. When I found the ends of my hoses behind the kick panels and behind the rear bottom side panels, I thought someone had sealed off the holes they should exit.

And you are correct.
Between here and the dodge charger site lies more 3rd gen sunroof info than anywhere.

anyways, here is the two rib portion of the back half of my headliner (only part that was left) before I yanked its dry rotted carcass to check out my sunroof pan for leaks.

I do have a handle,
but will need a bezel.

And nope, even though all the parts are there turning the handle does nothing.

Ledgendary Interiors will make headliners for them. My ratty carpet is black, as is the semi decent 73 satellite door panels, etc. I put in there because it is what I had.

I need a dash cap, found the console lock when doing the interior and got that working good, had to cut the rear bottom panels to fit the seat belt retractor covers, used some black shoe goo to fix some rear seat seam tears, threw some black vinyl over my rough rear tray, etc.

Seeing as I need a new gas tank, tires, exhaust, etc. I will put finishing the interior on the back burner. Hell, once I get better tires and exhaust, I will screw in the valences and grille and get some more than yard driving out of it!

Looks like your car has the ribbed cloth for a headliner that my Charger has. Sounds like the cables may be screwed up in your sunroof. That could be a easy fix with stuff from Home Depot. One thing I liked about restorations as opposed to the new cars I work on now is that everything was meant to be rebuilt and not just a throwaway like today.

yeah, I can't find my closeups, and some of the material is laying around somewhere,
but at the end of the day it boils down to the headliner looking no different than other 3rd gen Charger/RR stuff I have seen. It's only the number of ribs and the shape that is different.

I have that same 72 sunroof bulletin floating around in the library somewhere. From memory..
It shows the front drain tubes exiting the kick panel about 2/3rds of the way down, with @ 2" of tube outside and sealed with seam sealer.
The rear tube exits in the front of the wheelwell @ 10-12 inches from the bottom, also with the tube extend into the well and sealed. Both are at a downward angle so the holes might be ovals . It looked that way from the drawing. Cleaning the tubes is accomplished with a stiff wire to clear any debris. They all leak some so keeping the drains open is critical...From experience with a 72 NYB with a Funroof.

We are looking for this fiberglass hood & scoop for our 1971 Plymouth Roadrunner. Does anyone know where we can find them.

Man a 10 year old thread that's digging deep

and off topic

My friend used barb fittings and bolted them into the top of the wheel wells and the bottom of the rocker panels behind the front fenders bolt up. This insures proper drainage of the sunroof tray completely out of the car, instead of the crudely punched holes that allow the tray to drain into the body.

On the 74 Charger I had, the rear holes were rusted so you couldn't tell what they were for and the tubes were laying inside the quarter under the window area, draining right into the quarter overlap of the rocker gap.

100% guaranteed recipe for rust out.

@YY1 your inbox is full wanted to see what you need for power windows I think I can make a complete harness I'm working on connector now

100% guaranteed recipe for rust out.

I finally scored what I believe is the final piece- grabbed a really mint '69 complete wiring harness off ebay for $75 BIN!

I see cut off ends going for more than that.

More relevant to this post-

I still have an OEM motor and switch to convert a manual sunroof to a power one if anyone is interested.

Taking a good look at RA III's picture I realized there are at least 3 different cassette bodies used. The one pictured, the assembly I sent to SDWeatherman , and the power unit I have from a 71 SSP, are all different. Minor but distinct.
RA III.. Is the headliner on yours using the bows at each seam? The headliner I pulled from the 71 SSP only had one seam and bow. Good thing I saved it so legendary can reproduce it.
Anyone interested in the front foam piece for the power units? I have time off now thanks to the Panicdemic so I can build a mold to reproduce them .

Road Chicken - let me know how the front foam mold goes, I was thinking of doing the same thing. Maybe I will work on my 72 Sebring Plus front foam - it looks a little different than the 71. Oh by the way, are you missing a tape measure by chance........
