Guys this maybe a dumb thread. And I maybe the only one. But I had a slow day today at the cotton farm. So I said let me check out some old old project threads. Holy cow. So the question is what is y'all guys opinion on what happens to all these projects. So many look like they are going great and just bam. No more updates.

Well here is an update on the project from hell. If you put a hemi in a car that was not a hemi car then don't put a Borgeson Steering box in it because the aftermarket community never talk to each other and can't make parts that work with each other. I am now dimpling a $1000 set of headers to clear the damn thing. Yet the headers cleared the factory st. box. :BangHead:

Mine was going well, but it is on hold so I can get some other cars ready to sell.

Life gets in the way sometimes. Interests change. Who knows.

Some people are still crossing their t's and dotting their i's.

Over the years I've learned to pace myself and really think about the best way to move forward with the build I want. I'll make time, I'll find space, it's just the lack of $$$ sometimes that holds me up. Somewhere in all of that it's important to enjoy what your doing/have, otherwise is just a money sucking anchor that's no fun at all and is nothing more than an idea. You really have to love this hobby.

Mine came to a screeching halt when I was laid off, family first. Back to work now gotta get caught up on a few things then I’m back to my ride. I’m very close to being done.

My project thread is burried because it's DONE!!:D I will say when I was building mine hold ups were always money related but typically found little things to keep something moving forward.

for me it was doing a build sheet on paper with amount of cost for each part of the build. so now i'm collecting parts and waiting till i have everything for that part of the build. i also slow because i need to get caught up on the how to do it from all of you guys so i don't overspend.

Have you happen to reach out to some in their threads?

From time to time I bump some of the slackers in their threads......lol...jk

As another stated a lot of things change quickly in life and then things get prioritized.........

Your lucky......you just caught me mid post in your thread, lol............

Next time brother...I promise it is coming......I have cut you enough slack:luvplace:

just didn't want to ask about progress on super old threads but there is so much good info on these old build threads. I have spent some (ok a lot) of time looking at these old builds..

Mine took 7+ years. The recession of '08 slowed me down considerably but I finally got it done. This is my 4th "season" on the road with it and I have 14000 miles on the odo so far and loved every one of them! Like said, sometimes life gets in the way. I am sure there are MANY that get started with the best intention then they find out what it REALLY takes to put one of these rides together and become so intimidated they just give up.

My cars took a serious hit with building my garage...Now it's taking a serious hit on my wallet...gonna be a little while till I can get back into building cars again...:(

I never started a thread for my latest build. But who wants to see another RR with a motor home 440 build?
