I’m restoring my 69 charger which was rough when I bought it from the original owners family, but very original including still having factory rad hoses, etc.
I’ve finally got around to refreshing the starter to bolt up to the restored engine. I was really hoping it still had the original starter that I could rebuild, but now I’m thinking it has been rebuilt in the past, but I’m looking for clarification.
The star wheel on the side of the aluminum housing has a 68 in the center, which is good for a 69 car. The bad news is that the 3 digit number on the barrel is 30:. I’m guessing that means 3rd week of 1970 but I’m wondering what the colon after the 30 means? I can’t recall seeing a colon after a date number before.
