Better luck next time...
It sounds like he had a good year, be proud of that...
I wish him well in the future...
There's always next year/season or summer league,
or tournament season, it really never ends
assuming he's still the head coach
My nephew Keith (I raised) coaches too,
1st was a Christian/church league, an under 13, in the Ridgecrest area
then when he got his master's degree & started teaching
American History (real history, not the crap they push normally)
you need a credentialed teacher of some sort to coach,
be it the HC or an asst.
someone has to have a teacher's credentials
then he became a HS girls JV HC & then HS boys Varsity HC
then Girls JV/Varsity Golf teams Head coach
It's been tough, he's not used to losing, he was always competitive
he spends a crapload of time doing it too, hrs away from family
His now is in the Marysville area, the teams were bad, not much talent...
The girls won't play 'any defense', the boys just 'no real talent'
(my opinions not his)
Keith was a great player, double/double most all games, he's a great coach too
in/after HS, he had a scholarship to Pepperdine, (ended up going into the USAF)
unfortunately, blew out his knee sliding into second base, while playing baseball
he was an even better baseball player/coach too
Basketball otherwise
I couldn't care any less about it, 'at all'
the NCAA & NBA
I won't/wouldn't even watch 'even if I was paid' to watch,
IMO it's become that bad...
Sorry...
