All them fancy gadgets/ anti theft? try a petcock valve under the seat rerouteing fuel line... dad and I been doing it since 1940's START IT! KEYS ARE IN IT/FUEL RUNS OUT IN 30 SECONDS/ RUN THAT BATTERY DOWN... BUSTED... or push button start via button on cigarette lighter ???? funny....:bootyshake:

To clarify you are suggesting running the fuel line into the passenger compartment?

Fuel line in the cabin with today's high pressure fuel injection fuel lines???? Even scarier! Kill switch is much safer and easier to do.

I have seen this done on non-fuel injected cars. The fuel line stays under the floor - only the valve handle sits in the passenger cabin under the seat. This way, the driver can shut it on and off from inside the car. The one I saw was actually located under the passenger seat.

The thinking there was that a thief never likes to be in the spotlight. If he can quietly work to defeat an electrical kill switch, then he can do so quietly until he gets the car started. With a fuel shutoff valve, he will get the car started and have it stall out in traffic. He will then likely walk away (as if he is getting help) and never come back.

Not saying I agree or disagree, but just what I heard was the reasoning for doing this...

Hey my 72 Chevy pickup had the gas tank in the cab behind the seat, I always wondered if I was going to die a fiery death in that thing.
A kill switch is a much better idea.

I figure a kill switch is a pretty easy thing to defeat. A thief would probably run a hot wire to the coil anyway...

My dad had a kill switch at one time. Back in the '60's he had an Austin with an electric pump, so he put in a hidden toggle switch. He was a mechanic at a shop in town...one day he was taking a customer's car for a test drive, and saw his own car a couple blocks from where it was supposed to be. Someone stole it and didn't get very far.

My buddies gad had a 69 GTX when I was growing up... All I remember about the car is it was a complete bondo buggy and you had to start it with the washer fluid button!
