Steering column bearing?

I tore down my 62 Savoy's steering column and I noticed that it only has a seal/retainer on the lower end/ engine compartment side.
Can a bearing be added to the end of the tube like later columns have?

Detroit Muscle has the new seal. The nylon bushing will last a long time.

I had a delrin one made for mine. Going to use it plus the rubber/nylon one.

Who is making the delrin lower bushings?

I had a guy from a machine shop whip it up after I gave him id and od dimensions.
