Steering wheel removal

Hey guys

im restoring my 67 Belve and i want to remove the steering wheel.... how do i go about this

i think the plastic center cap pops off but i dont want to damage it

anyone have any tips

Welcome. What wheel/horn ring does it have? Post a pic if you can. Should be an easy thing

Cool....that's the wheel/horn ring I was betting on. The center piece with the Plymouth emblem is only about 1/2" thick and will twist off...counter clockwise I believe. Then there should be (I think) 3 phillips head screws retaining the horn ring and the switch itself. Get those out of the way and you're set to use a puller. A note....run the big nut up so the shaft is flush with the top of the nut. Gives a bigger footing for the puller and won't damage the shaft if you have to break out a #3 knockrometer for assistance lol
