Are you still having problems with your current 4 speed? I thought it was just thread chasing one of the mounting holes and you'd be back at it. That 23 spline is mighty heavy duty if you're keeping street tires. The A833 is on par with the Ford top-loader and much stronger than the aluminum case Muncies and B/W T-10s GM used for years. Even if you have to heli-coil a mounting hole you're still good...

This is the "famous" gift transmission another member sent me free a few years back out of the kindness of his heart. He didn't know the condition, had been sitting under a bench for a long time, the same one that started raising a fuss going down the road.
We hurredly had someone throw bearings in it when the Passon replacement turned up lame.
It's quite worn, pops out of first gear under load and is generally inadequate.
        These came with 18 splines.
Since I have to address the whole situation still, I'm going to do it one more time - with the correct transmission.
Oh - and the Centerforce will be replaced with a "conventional" clutch while I'm at it.

Personal preference, mainly. That and the wonky pedal position.
That rascal has all kinds of bite, which makes it a good race clutch.
          Not so much street.

Ah, the one FBBO member not worn out with all my posts and pictures!
The one in my photo garage, my '68 GTX.
Doesn't matter - I have both transmission crossmembers covered, thanks to Dan Brewer. I can install the '69-back or the '70-up B&E dual pattern ones.
          Thanks!

Thanks VC, I finally found that one. Wish I could look at those internal pics and know
            what I was looking at.
Can someone with more knowledge take a look at those pics and advise, please?
            Here's the link:

            Thanks!
