Stop in for a drink.

Sipping on just a little Whistle Pig 6 year. I found it unopened buried on a basement shelf. A lot of the WP hasn't been worth the price. This one isn't bad at all.

Mike, when we were in Florida the gal at the liquor store let me sample a WP 10 year. It was delicious. Of course they did not have a bottle. I tried a 10 year WP when I was in St. Louis and was paint thinner. I have really enjoyed Tin Cup.

I get the same with WP. My first bottle was a gift. It was the first Farmstock batch and really got me into chasing bottles. I can honestly say it was #1 or 2 of the best I have tasted. I have a Tin Cup. Sounds like I need to find it and het it back out. I haven't tries any of their latest releases. It was always a solid sipper. I have a whiskey and a rye. I got them sometime in 20 or early 21 before I started keeping records.

Invite a friend and have some fun. And a bonus bottle kill tonight. Frickin' Elmer T Lee is so good!

Driftless Glen Distillery had a 10 year Rye release party yesterday (9/4/25) so Ted and I made the trip. The party started mid afternoon so we started in Cambridge at Cash and Olive's Pub for lunch then drove out to Dancing Goat for some sampling and of course shopping. We tried 3, a High Rye Bourbon (which we brought home), a Port Finished Rye, and a Chocolate Bitters finished Rye. The rye was just meh and the chocolate rye smelled wonderful but we discovered the bitters gave it an odd taste mid palate. We did pick up a few bottles of their barrel finished Maple Syrup. Always delicious!
It's an hour drive to Driftless Glen in Baraboo and we got there in time for the party. They started the self guided tour in the distilling room where they were mashing and distilling rye and got to sample some fresh White Dog. It was quite smooth and sweet. No wonder their Rye's are so good. The tour went through one of the older rickhouses and followed up in the bottling building. There we sampled straight from the barrel ryes and some bottled 10 year bourbons. We also sampled and bottled our own 10 year Rye including the corking, labeling and shrinking the stopper seal. We wandered back to the main building for a delicious Orange Old Fashioned out on the patio overlooking the river. They had a raffle to finish off the event. It was a great time for sure.
