Have a couple of motors here and wondering about suggestions on how best to store for a year or so. Thanks
 
What I didn't see in the video is that he do not pour diesel or penetrating oil on the cilynder to protect the piston rings from rust and getting stuck
 
I didn't watch the video.....yes, oil everything up internally with WD-40 or some other "engine fogger" type oil including inside each spark plug hole & don't be stingy with the oil
 
I left my 440 set for 18 years in a unheated garage at my Michigan home and it rolled over fine so I started and ran it. It turned a 12.68 in my wagon so the rings must have survived. Now it sits with a plastic bag over it waiting as my spare engine. I did use it one summer while my 493 was getting lifter bore bushings 5years ago. I did absolutely no storage prep ever. Not technically correct-but.
