Thanks man. A couple more patches, now that the frame is on it for support, and I will be able to test fit it on the car. I think the holes for the hood pins are wrong, but that is another bridge! It's taking me a while, but having this hood is so gonna make the car for me. They just look so cool.

I wasn’t happy with the front edge. I had it pretty close. But it needed a tweak. So I cut on the original weld and adjusted the angle a smidgen.

It took me a while. I knew the hood adjustment process was something that didn’t really sound right when you say it. So I googled and somebody on an E-body said you lift the back of the hinge to lower the back of the hood. But he was wrong. You lift the front of the hinge, essentially pointing the back end down, then lift the hood high on the front and tighten the hood to hinge bolts. Fits like a fist in an eye now!

Then I got looking at this. How they ever had it working before is a mystery. It is virtually out the whole hole. Holy!

Time to move the hole. Had to straighten the mount as the pin was pointed out of whack as you said!

Operation hole relocation complete. 36 grit all over the spots that need a skim of putty. Maybe tomorrow I’ll attach the skin to the frame for the final time. Then start smoothing.

I have resurrected a lot of cars over time, but this one of the best I’ve done. It needed X things repaired, but they were all fairly basic and easy. Overall it was very solid and straight. And it is ultra cool. IMO of course.

And yet another point of no return. I called a buddy and he said he uses the same thing as I do. Pro form PF211 for a contact. I used it on roof skins but I’ve never done an hood skin before this. It is one of the best seam sealers. Tomorrow I will weld the edges and then I can do the finishing body work.
