temp gauge help??

ok my stock temp gauge stop working no biggy i bought a aftermarket temp gauge from autozone i wired it correct put in the new sending unit but it wont read correct i have a lazer temp gauge says im running 200 but the gauge only shows 90 my question is i have a aftermarket racing aluminum intake would this effect anything did i wire it wrong ive done it before on my chevy is there a twist im missing please help

Where are you specifically connecting the gauge/sending unit? You should be connecting it to the waterpump housing not the intake manifold.

ahh that makes sense i took my two barrel and for a four barrel ill just have to play with it i guess
