I am need to install an after market temp gauge in my 69 Coronet Superbee 383. Do I need to drain the coolant to remove the stock sensor? If so where is a drain plug? Is there a way to fit the aftermarket sensor in the heater bypass lines I have plugged? Pictures is the current sensor and bypass line plugs

He may need a brass adaptor for that top port. I did.

Yes, drain the cooling system down. There is a drain valve on the bottom of the radiator. Drain it until the level is below the sensor. Remove and replace.

Yes, use the hole where the 3/8” square hole is. You’ll probably need to heat the area with a torch and use a breaker bar adapted down to 3/8” to remove the plug. You will need a brass adapter & it’s included with many temperature gauge kits
