The C-word, forum recommendations?

Much cheaper than these damn Mopars too.
you are correct sir.jpg

When I was a kid, I got my first car magazine. Popular Hot Rodding December ‘75. It was a Tri Five Chevys issue. I so wanted the metallic blue (B5) ‘57 Nomad that was running big and little Cragar SS wheels in that issue. There’s times I wish I had gotten one of those instead of my Mopars. Like when a Mopar guy points out what isn’t “correct”. :( :p

I think I need a DeSoto coupe every time I see one of those cult classic Chevys.

Weeeell....in early 70 I had 3 56 Chebbys (all sedans) but my 66 Belvedere sedan was my driver and hot rod. Sold the 'best' 56 with a 265 with a good aluminum intake (don't remember the brand but think it was an Eddy), Jardine headers, and a Holley carb with a 3speed floor shift that was hooked up to pull 2nd instead of pushing it....and it ran pretty good for a heavy 'chew' box. It didn't take long for the new owner to blow it up and came back to me for.....well, you know lol.

So why call it a Mopar form? Can't you get your fix out of HOT ROD?
I just checked...yep, this is still the off topic forum. Life is too short, and there are too many great cars out there, to be hung up one brand, but to each, their own.

Again, if you don't like the topic, don't click on the thread! It really is that simple.

Never owned any of them, but I have always liked them. One of my life-long buddies has several '57s, including a gorgeous, black Bel-Air that he bought back in 1976 at the ripe old age of 15. Bought it with money he earned bagging groceries. Last year I tagged along with him to the Tri-Five Nationals up in Bowling Green, KY. That was a blast. It was kind of nice to go to a car show/swap meet and not be chasing down any parts at the swap meet - I got to enjoy my adult libations that much more... Some pics from that show. I am and always will be a gasser fan so I gravitate to those. The primered '55 shown below was one of the actual movie cars from "Two Lane Blacktop".

Those gassers are great ! I've always liked some of the 2 toned paint schemes on them also...

Of course, the 57 has the wrong gasser class designation on the window. It should be AA/gas or A/GS (A gas supercharged) It MIGHT be a BB/gas, but if it is, it's a tank, about 500 lbs too heavy.
(And yes, I realize it's a show car, not a real gasser/racer).

The other 55 Chevy that was used in the Two Lane Blacktop movie was the one that rolled over and burned at the end of the American Graffiti movie. It was also in an episode of ADAM 12.

Well, I finally pulled the trigger on a ‘55 about 2 weeks ago. Unrestored with one repaint back in the early 90s. Paint shows extremely well at 10’. I’m the 3rd owner. Previous owner gave me the title issued to him in 1961. Needs some TLC but it’s driver and I can work on it as time permits. @davek has been harassing me to share pics with FBBO so here she is.
