I am looking for a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner I owned while I was in the Navy. I was stationed on the USS Kitty Hawk when it was in drydock in at the shipyard. I bought the car from a used car lot near Bremerton, WA, in 1982. In January 1983, my ship changed homeports to San Diego, and the car was craned onto the flight deck for the transit. I have a picture, but it's from a distance so you can see any real detail. Unfortunately, I had to sell the car in San Diego later in 1983. Later in life, I went through a divorce where I lost all of my personal belonging, including photos and paperwork. I’ve regretted it for 40 years (losing the Roadrunner, not the divorce) and would love to know if it survived.

The Specs:
  • Body: Hardtop (RM23)
  • Engine: 383 V8 with aftermarket headers and dual exhaust (mildly aggressive).
  • Exterior: Alpine White with a Black Vinyl Top.
  • Interior: Black with factory bucket seats and center wood grain console (A-box).
  • Wheels/Tires: Keystone Mag wheels on BFG 60s (all four corners).
The "Fingerprint" Details:The most unique thing about this car was the rear package tray. The previous owner had hacked/carved out the metal of the rear deck to install two home-style woofers. Even if the car has been restored, I'm thinking patch panels or welds may have been done on the underside of that rear deck and would be visible from inside the trunk.

Did you have any pictures as mentioned ?

Also, did you happen to know a William (Bill) Nichols from the Pendleton (Oregon) area in 1982-83 ?

He would have enlisted around then after graduating High School.

If you can find any numbers from it would be so helpful .. that includes your old lic. plate number or vin. Good luck!
