The Hidden Social Security Math Nobody Shows Retirees

AGI is not wealth.

10% is 10%. The majority of them are working stiffs.

Certainly you can believe what you like.
I missed the part where anybody said it was wealth. However, income is spent or collected, either buys influence or power more than the lack of.
10% of a smaller group is a smaller group having impact over a larger uncounted group.
Who cares if they are working stiffs, they make their choices, it's a free country?
I choose to believe mainly what stands up to critical thinking, whether the outcome suits me or not.

Folks;

This thread is very useful to a number of people to help them understand the pros and cons of when to take social security, and how it works. Because of that, it has been left in the general discussion forum.

If someone wants to discuss who is sticking it to who, or politically who wants what, etc., then start a different thread in the Political Forum.

Fair enough. but those planning on taking SS have to consider the likelihood of whether SS will be actually available for their retirement timeline, and need to consider the factors that insure that, and what will risk that will be and how.
The who part is a personal choice. Knowing the source of how the funds are acquired or can be sourced cannot be divorced from an informed planning decision. With self-control that all can done within the rules of this forum IMO.
