Hello all!!

It is with a heavy heart that I am making this posting. My Father, who was an avid Mopar man since he was old enough to drive passed away this past July. He left my mother, myself and brother, behind. My mom has advanced demintia and has no real income (just a tiny bit from social security) and we need to do some major repairs on her home so that it can either be sold or we can move her back into it. She has been living with me since he passedm she is unable to be alone anymore. While I would love to hold onto the collection and finish them I can not afford it and my mother needs the funds from them in order to provide for her. With no real retirement and no helath insurance, all her expenses are out of pocket and are taking up all her income so there is nothign left for any emergencies or to repair their home. Unfortunatly their home needs alot of work as dad started hoarding the last 10 years somewhat and then he let their inside cat destroy the inside of their home so it is in need of major repairs.

Anyway on to what we have.....

I have just started to go through everything and it will take me awhile to get through it all to be able to provide a more complete listing of parts etc but I will provide an brief overview now.

Cars:

1967 GTX convertible w/440 4 speed and Dana rear, car is blue with black stripes, body and frame I believe are in good shape (they were when he bought it and it has been garaged ever since) I know he spent years collecting parts to restore it. His intent was consourse quality when complete. He bought new orginal or show quality used parts which is what took him so long. I am unsure what all there is for it, I know there are tail light lenses and besels that he spent alot of money and time on. I believe he also has a new top for it as well, I know there is a new boot for the top for sure.

1966 Belvedere or Satellite hemi 4 speed car, this car is nice shape body wise(orginial paint still shines with some rubbing compound) it is silver in color. He found this riding the rodes one day, it belonged to a young man who bought it, drove it, got shipped over to Vietnam and never made it home and it sat since. Off of the top of my head I want to say it has less than 50,000 org miles, maybe in the 20,000's ( I will look when I get back up to their house) it is also sitting in the garage. Someone stripped the motor, trans, rear and some of the interior at some point, he was in the process of collecting the correct numbers matching parts, I know he picked up a rear, and I want to say he had got the right motor as well. He also has a collection of parts for this car. The car is in really nice shape for having sat for so long.

1966 or 68 Sport Fury Convertible.... this is a driver. I am unsure of the drivetrain, I know it is a big block auto car. It is dark green in color. He used to drive this to car shows, meets and just to cruise around in. It is in great shape, is it concourse quality - no, but is is a very clean straight car. I will look it over really well when I get back up there.

1966/8 B body 4 door sedan in really nice driveable condition (not sure of the model off the top of my head) it is blue in color. I am unsure if he bought this as a donor car, to put back on the road or just to have.

plenty of 66 and close to B body parts from interior trim to body panels and things in between.

I would almost like to sell it as a lot to someone but know that I will end up having to break it down. I know enough to know what these cars are worth approx. While I am not expecting the top top dollar I also will not be low balled or let someone steal something for nothing. I am neg. on things and reasonable and just ask that if your interested that you are reasonable as well, the more you get the more I will work with it.

I will start getting pictures together within the next few weeks.

There is also orginal owners manuls, service books, spec sheets, advertising materials, neons and a ton of misc stuff. He was a true collector who passed before he was able to see any of his projects complete.

He was a automotive painter for most of his life, he did many custom and restoration jobs and actually painted a number of drag cars and boats in the 80's and early 90's. He was a perfectionist and this was reflected in the quality of cars and parts he bought. I will say all of the cars are straight not rust or bondo buckets.

THis is located in VA.

Thanks for your consideration and understanding in the reasons why I am selling for my mom.

jwrreid,

Sorry for your families hardships. Hopefully folks on here will be able to put to good use what your father had collected over the years. Good luck with your endeavor. The more photos you will be able to post, the better your luck will be in finding homes for the items. Good luck.

Hey there, I am located in the Northern Neck (King George) area, however my parents home is in the Fredericksburg area.

I will try to post pictures as soon as possible but it will take a bit to get to that point.

Justin

I wanted to say first sorry for your loss and your dad sounds like a really great guy and loved our hobby. I know I can't affored any of the cars and will love the pictures you post. I know with us all here we can help with question on what parts you and what cars you have and find you good people to buy them.

I might know of a guy in Lexigton VA that would be interested in at least the Hemi and maybe the GTX. He bought my 70 Coronet R/T project after I got sick and couldnt finish it.

Again sorry for your loss and I can't wait to see pictures and prices.

Sorry to hear of your dad's passing and your mom's illness. I know you are probably busy getting everything in order for your mom and the house, so do you want us to pm you to ask for the price on your cars and xtras?

I'm also sorry to hear about your loss and situation. I'm approaching being the same one myself. My suggestion would be to get the cars sold via auction and contact some of the bigger NOS/OEM parts dealers and see about making a deal to sell the parts as a lot. They'll buy them, and while you'll get well less than retail, by the time you get all those parts listed, advertised, sold, boxed, and shipped, you'll probably be at the same point financially anyway.

Justin, sincere condolences to both you and your family on your loss. Your Dad sounds like a man of both great taste as well as great tales and I'm sure his stories will live on with you. I'd like to learn more about the GTX and the neon signs (and have family near Fredericksburg), but take care of yourself and your family first. There will be plenty of time to sell what needs to be sold when the time is right.

God bless.

Thanks guys for all the thoughts/condolences it does mean alot and shows that the classic car community tends to be like a big family even with a few black sheep here and there lol.

I have answered all PM's up to this point.

Someone asked if I wanted questions via PM or here, it does not matter, just know that I might be able to answer right away or it may take a few days, dont take a delay as I am ignoring or blowing smoke.

I will be up there sometime within the next 7 days or so, i will try to firm up a little more info and get a few pics if I can.

My dad started to hoard somewhat the last 7 or so years he was alive. It was nothing freakish like you see on TV, it was empty boxes +he might need for something" and other things. It will take some time to go through things, this will not be a overnight process, but will get through it as quickly as possible. I own a very small remodeling and landscape company and I have a few small jobs that I am trying to get finished up, espcially before our snow season hits, so that I can make sure my bills are paid lol. As soon as these are finished I appear to have a little slack time, so I will use that to really jump into going through this. I am going to get a storage container and dumpster and trash whats trach and anything that might be usable no matter how remote the chance, I will try to photo and list and then put it in the container. After doing that I should be able to provide a fairly detailed list and photo of items.

In the interim please feel free to ask questions, express intrerest in item(s) etc and I will keep an open and updated line of communication.

I really hate to sell them, and I really wish that I could finish at least one of the projects for him, but finacally I can not afford that undertaking. Instead of sitting on everything and hoping I would be able to do this, I would rather let them go to homes where someone can show them the respect and love they deserve and get them back on the road again!

My condolences to you and your family as well bud! Best wishes for your mom and I hope you can get things sold and it will help out financially.. I will be looking for your pictures and a list of what you may be selling.. I might be interested in a couple manuals at the least.. Good luck.

Here is some of the literature that I ran across today and I wasn't even looking for it lol I was actually taking some measurments in the house and looked down at one of the end tables and there this stack of items were sitting there!
