The Mopars red headed stepbrother got it's engine back!

My father-in-law has had a speed & machine shop since the late 60s. He said that between GM, Ford, Chrysler and AMC, that AMC by far had the nicest machining in their engines - very well put together compared to the big three.

By the way: perhaps I'm weird, but I'd prefer a 69 Javelin over the same year AMX - they look more proportional.

And more functional for street use. I too heard 390/401 heads were better made, with more possibilities in making more power than engines of simular size and proportions.

The Javelin lines flow better, but the AMX is a special car.

It's just a primer roller, but I will try to get a couple pictures of the car if it is not too dark out when I get home.

anything extra I have is yours, but I need to go thru it.........dont get your hopes up, my nicest stuff went on the turquois car

the long red piece between the tail lights I made......got a piece of red plastic / plexi glass.......heated the center over a candle I think, and put the proper bend in it.......I bet that was 1985

I have an extra AMX hood, but it's rusty.........it can be married to a javelin hood .........just babblin :blah::blah::blah:
I would appreciate anything extra, just make sure that you have all the parts for your car first.

Nice. My second favorite AMC after the Rebel Machine.

oh no you didn't

Yes it does. Any color would do. It doesn't have to be the red white and blue edition which does seem to be the most common. We have a real nice gold Rebel Machine and an all white one, both with the hood black out treatments running around here. I would like to have either one.

I actually prefer the normal color Machines.....there was only 500 of them, and over 1000 RWB I believe

AMX's are cool! My buddy has probably bought and sold dozens of different musclecars over the years, but he still has the '70 AMX that he drove in high school during the late 1970's.

I really like the hood on the 70 AMX cars. If I remember correctly it is functional too. I would run the 70 hood on my 69,but they are made of unobtainium rarely do you ever see one for sale.
