The Surrogate Mother!

I'm getting ready to setup the clutch for the Hemi, and I am thinking the stock aluminum bellhousing probably isn't safe to run with 650 ish horsepower. I just looked up an Ultrabell with the block protector plate, they are $1400.00 these days! Holy schit! Line lock and a driveshaft loop will be needed too!

It has rallye wheels currently, but the plan is 15 x 10 polished aluminum slotted wheels in the back 15 x 8 slots up front.

You'll be smashing gears as hard as you can at 7 grand?

Yes, nothing in this hobby is even affordable anymore. Luckily, for all my contacts and discounts in this industry/hobby or else I couldn't get to enjoy these cars like I do.

The bellhousing, block protector plate, driveshaft loop,a Hurst line lock kit,and spring pearches for the Dana 60 are ordered.

The bellhousing wasn't cheap, but how much are your feet worth. My friend has a 10 second 66 Charger and he ended up with a broken foot when his automatic blew apart. It split the seam of the floor and firewall wide open on his car. I saw a 69 Z28 RS that the clutch blew threw the floor and dashboard like a buzzsaw, out the windshield and peeled back the top edge of the roof of the car! In the long run it's cheap insurance!

Today I was going out there to make something happen! So I took the Hemi off the stand, and went to put the block protector plate, and it wasn't fitting flush against the back of the block. The two plugs on the sides of the cam bearing were sticking out beyond the back of the block. I first tried to tighten them, then I used a flap disc to make them flush with the block. After that the block protector plate fit great. So I installed the flywheel with blue loctite on the bolts and torqued them to 70 foot pounds. Then I put the the clutch in place with the alignment tool and started installing the pressure plate. A bolt broke off in the flywheel. I was able to extract the broken bolt, after finding a replacement bolt,a second bolt broke! After extracting a second bolt,I decided they must be made in China crap bolts. I need to order new bolts for the pressure plate!
