The things we do for friends.....

My sons dog is 17. She is now having trouble controlling her bladder and bowels. She cant go down stairs so we have to carry her. She must be in pain as she tries to nip me when I go to pick her up. She is less nervous with my wife so she takes her up and down the stairs when we doggie sit.
The vet put her on a new diet which seemed to pick her up.
I dont even want to think about the next stages in her life but were preparing ourselves for that time
What breed of dog Steve? 17 is a pretty good run for most.
The last dog we had was a Chocolate Lab that we had to put down at 16 which was a very good run for a Lab.

They are imps and a pain when puppies, entertaining and good company as adults, then perfect when they are gray. Through it all, their love is the constant, and it's all too short.

My nephew had a couple of ankle biters - not sure of the breed. They also have two little boys. Fortunately both dogs had lived their lifespan in a wonderful household and were treated as the boys were treated almost. But after I think 13 years on the older one they had to put her to sleep - then less than a year later the other one had to go to doggie heaven also. Devastating for the family as they were such a big part of it. Only owned a dog once in my life - an Alaskan Husky that I adopted when I lived in Anchorage. When I moved back to my folks house the dog wasn’t welcomed (not sure I was either) so I gave him to a friend of a friend. Egor ran away from this guy shortly thereafter never to be seen from again. Never got another dog after that cause I didn’t want to go thru something like that again. Nor did I want to put a pet thru that either. So I’ve been petless since - a few decades now.

Mostly chihuahua. She is the size of a cat put she use to have a bad attitude LOL. Actually she was a good dog but my son got her as she could not be trusted around small children. My wife is very fond of her.

We need to take care of the ones who rely on us.

Love my dogs to death! I would do anything in my power to keep them Happy and healthy! Luckly for me my wife works at a very high end vets office here in FL. So we get a brake on most everything!
I have 3 dogs as of now my oldest (charger) he's 14 years old he's had his share of problem s but he's a beast and gets threw them , my next oldest is (shelby) she's 8 she has had her gut opened alot ! She has a thing for eating things she shouldn't ! Then there's (hemi) he's roughly 2 years old he actually is going in to get some teeth removed from when he was a stray he broke quite a few !
Dogs are the best thing without my boy charger I probably wouldn't have made it threw my back surgery s with all the depression he sat with me every day all day !
