THINGS I'M NO LONGER INTERESTED IN:

Yeah, i'm not really interested in life at all anymore... just work and sleep and waiting now..

1) Working. That's why I retired on my birthday a week ago.

2) Flying.

Instead, I'll be:
1) outdoors
2) in the garage
3) keeping an eye on you guys
4) in the grocery store

YAY ! Congratulations, man!

Me?
I still love driving at night, even in the rain. I don't know why but night driving has always been fun for me.
Winters here don't include snow, just cooler weather and some rain.
I don't feel as motivated to do things outside once late Fall and Winter roll through. Overcast skies bum me out. I couldn't stand to live anywhere that gets a lot of rain or any snow. I thrive in the sunlight.

You need to almost die, to appreciate living.
When you've been down my road you get up and do anything and everything that your body is still capable of. I owe that to a lot of family members that died too young...

I struggle more with night driving now, the glare from other lights annoy the hell out of me. It’s easier when I’m in my landcruiser because it’s tall and also has slightly upgraded lighting, but that sucks because it’s the least cool car in the fleet to drive unless I’m going to the off-road park.

THINGS I'M NO LONGER INTERESTED IN:

With the postings of some in the Political and General forums, it seems like some are no longer interested in the main focus of this forum.
Cars.
B Body cars in particular.
I strongly encourage any and all of these people to read up and join in on the many car topics that are posted every day.
If you don't have a car anymore, you could start a thread about a car you once had and how much fun it was.

Cataract surgery will correct that.

My wife had her right eye done. The surgery took less than an hour. Her eye sight is much better.

I am not "calling you out" as people like to say more frequently nowadays, but the FxBO forums provide a feeling of friendly camaraderie, mutual support, and a sense of community within a group of people, often arising from shared experiences or goals. Essentially, a spirit of good friendship among members of a group.

Cars, life, and B-Bodies but not necessarily in that order. Things ebb and flow for everyone. New friends to be made and new things to learn as we share our "wisdom". Help one another. :)

No longer or never had been interested in....
long work hours or overtime
Politics
flying
stupid people
large crowds
negative people
other people's opinions about me
tv shows that last more than an hour or have continuing episodes
snow
nascar

It's a long list but here is a few.

Dreading the day. Right now, I've actually been able to ditch wearing glasses for anything except close up reading -
my "distance" vision has markedly improved in recent years, as verified by the last eye exam.
When I asked how that was possible, doc said "developing cataracts are acting as built-in lenses and are correcting
your vision - at least for now - but you'll see that go away as they develop".

Great. Way to put a damper on a rare "win" there doc.

Same here, I've worn glasses for nearsightedness since high school. Got worse until my 30s, then stabilized when I was done with school. Haven't had a prescription change since, and it got almost to 20/10 at distance as I aged. Fringe benefit was I had incredible close up vision when I took my glasses off, great for close work like tying on midget dry flies when I was trout fishing. Cataracts started developing when I hit 65, now I'm down to 20/20 and can't see squat up close, which is where I have the greater need, now that I'm no longer driving a truck.

Opthamologist says it's my call, he'd refer me tomorrow, or I might never want new lenses. Still trying to figure my course of action. I had hoped to do more fly fishing in retirement, and I'm actually doing less. My leg situation doesn't help either, but I've got zero room for complaint after what I've seen some of you guys go through.

I’m the biggest pussy when it comes to medical procedures, even including something simple as getting blood drawn. I got myself worked up thinking about it, but it was a piece of cake. As I always tell everyone, if a pussy like me can go through it, anyone can.
