Anyone know where I can find a Thompson Power Steering Pump for my 1966 BB Belvedere II. Looking for a rebuild or even a salvage yard that may have one ? I have tried all over with no luck looks like this style has been discontinued at all automotive stores i have tried.

What’s wrong with your pump? Pretty sure Steer and Gear in Columbus Ohio can rebuild it.

Andrew, I feel your pain brother. I have a 66 Belvedere II and had the same problem. Nothing could be found....anywhere ! You may need to try challengersteve on this website. He had one (completely rebuilt) on his shelf, and I nabbed it. He has a lot of parts, and can rebuilt one off his vast number of cars for you. He is in Arkansas and easy to deal with. I recommend him.

It is leaking where the shaft comes out of the pump. Yes, I would send a pump in but I really do not want to be without a car for 3 -5 weeks and yes I could drive it without the pump but really do not wan to got that way. I want to get another pump and if it is not already rebuilt get it rebuilt and deal with the leaking one I currently have.

The rebuild/re-seal kits are readily available or Steer & Gear can rebuild it. Need a hub-mount pulley puller to get to where you can break down the pump to pull the front seal, but they can be borrowed form Auto Parts stores.

I don’t have anything to do with Steer and Gear, but I’ve done business with them a few times and never had any problems. Call them, they usually have rebuilt ones in stock. Unless you prefer to have yours rebuilt. Couldn’t tell you their pricing, send your old one back to get a refund on the core charge. Shouldn’t take but a few days.
