Time to buy electronic voltage limiter

Did you pay with Paypal or your credit card? Either will show if they took your money! and Paypal will even update to state "shipped". Just be glad you didn't get charged $40 US for postage or you'd be really crying in your beer!

I just ordered two IVR4 and one IVR3. Paid $15 for shipping. So better to order multiples.

Have you had any correspondence?
I ordered yesterday, this morning received email from PayPal with tracking info from USPS. Should be In Hawaii on the 26th.

Just checked mailbox and finally received…. Plugged into circuit board, but feels like doesn’t push all the way in?
Is this normal?
Kinda wiggly too?

Should fit exactly like the old device.

So new $70 voltage limiter installed, red led lit up….
No change—- gages and dash lites on that side still not working….
Tic tac clock doesn’t run, but does light up as well as speedometer.
Gages do not work, as well as their lights….
Frustrating…

Dash lights are 12V sourced. I forgot what car this is, but you may have some hairline cracks in the cluster PCB between the grounds, or the 5V connection to the regulator could be loose or corroded.
Can you solder?
If not, can you get the cluster out easily?

Ive had the cluster out in the past- not my favorite thing to do. I agree, must be a crack in the circuit board -68 charger….:(
Not sure why my lights in the tac clock and speedometer work, but not gages

If you want to pull it I'd be happy to bench test it and repair any cracked traces. I can test gauges basic functions including the tach, but you may want to have the clock and tach converted to modern electronics, etc, by a professional shop.

Make sure the cluster is grounded. It grounds to the dash with the mounting screws, so if testing when removed from the dash need to have a ground jumper wire attached. It's a good idea to just add a ground to the cluster and not rely on the mounting screws.

i added a “good ground “ wire from the dash frame to the clock housing? Maybe the wrong spot for a cluster ground?

Gauge cluster uses two different voltages.
Temp, oil and gas gauge function are 5 volts.
Clock and all backlighting including backlighting to the three gauges are 12 volts.

You can buy new gauge circuit boards or take Bilccm’s offer to check it out for you.
I converted my clock to quartz. If interested DM me and I’ll dig up my info on that process.

I forgot about the new circuit boards. That's the no brainer fix here.
