Thought this was an interesting quick read:

I have always been very fond of the wheel/look. I was lucky enough I believe in the 60's there were only two? Goodyear Racing Tire shops/distributors in the country.
One being in Ft Lauderdale on Federal Hwy. When I got the Polara 500 at age 16, I was working union construction in the summer and my first big upgrade was ordering 14" Torq Thrusts for my car at the Goodyear race outlet. I instructed them I wanted 7" wide wheels. They installed 14x6 and my dad picked up the car while I was working. I was rather irritated and convinced him to take it back, which is a known problem once tires are mounted.
We compromised and they got me 7" in the rear. They had to tweak the inside rear fenders. I had the widest tires in the HS.:lol:

I found an old pair at a buddies house beyond the tree line. Should clean up nice, the tire machine (coats 10/10) was giving me guff when I got them so, they are in the one day pile

This is a current 62 I own. I bought it sight unseen that had a set of 14x8 American Racing 200S wheels, fully expecting them to be replaced with my favorite Torque Thrusts of years past. The "Coke bottle" style wheels seemed like a European version of TT's that never really caught on. I grew to like them being a bit different and closer to the wheel dimension/look I was seeking decades earlier. So I kept them.:bananadance:

I've got a 62, and a set of polished TT's for it, with new slicks... and a set of 200s's and a pair of Ansen five spokes (mentioned in the article) in the
to-be-restored pile as well.
I'm a huge fan of daisies, since two lane blacktop.
 
I feel very lucky to find the 4 I found. I was helping a customer restore his 57 Tbird and he removed these to go stock. The Tbird original owner bought them new way back. 15x7 Torque thrust D. I love them.

My opinion only.
There's not a car made that doesn't look better with TT's on it.
I agree, especially for that era.
I however mounted some 17x10 5 spoke polished/gloss black Mustang TT knock offs on my daily driver Tacoma and I was pleasantly surprised how it stepped up the look besides the better handling.
 
I'm a huge fan of the 200S. Was really bummed when my racecar broke the 10" rears. We did recycle the rare 15x4 to my sons car. The wife's Challenger has them as well.

I love the new daisies in 17" sizes, (the GRAY ones please, or polished! No chrome!)but man, are they expensive! At least double the price of tt's in comparable sizes.
Well, keeps em kinda rare, I guess. When I go to our local car shows, I always look for the daisies. If I see more than one car with them, I'm surprised.
I really wish my old version 15x8.5s would fit on my cars. They don't, too little backspace, or they would already be restored and in use.
