Not yet three and as big as five year olds. The kid is so cute but gets in to trouble, fights, mischievous and is like the fuse to light off his two older brothers. So he put something in his mouth and swallowed it before my daughter in law could stop him. She thinks it was a coin. Off to the urgent care they went and yes there was something there according to a x-ray.
Next stop the emergency room were another x-ray showed something lodged in the esophagus. Pediatric specialist called in, he will have to be sedated and a trip to the O.R. Long night ahead.

I know the feeling. My 4yr old plays t-ball on the 5/6yr old team and he is the 2nd tallest kid. He gets into everything that he shouldn't. Hes had 4 ER trips and a broken arm already....keeps me young. Prayers sent your way that all will be ok.

That was scary, he could have choked!

I swallowed a quarter when I was five and passed it! It's amazing what the acids in your system can do to silver in a day or two.

Hoping the best for the little guy!

lets hope it wasn't one of those "coin" type battery's . they react in your gut and eat a hole

Kids being kids, it never stops even after they move out...

sorry to hear that happened to your Grandson,
so young to have to go thru surgery...

I'll bet they keep a sharper eye on him now too...

I hope everything is well, he has a speedy recovery...

Wishing the little guy well Steve. Years ago, I had my brother-in-law and his two monsters living here for a couple months and one night I told the brat that if she could shut up and behave herself, I'd give her a quarter. She shut up and so ii gave it to her. About an hour later, she came screaming around the corner. Apparently, she put the quarter in her mouth and almost swallowed it and was choking on it. I felt awful.

Another time, my youngest put a small stone up his nose & my wife couldn't get it out. She was panicking and I simply laid him down, plugged up the open nostril with my finger and blew into his mouth. The air had to go somewhere and it pushed the stone out his honker. My wife thought I was a genius.

My nephew shoved a sunflower seed up his nose, I couldn't get it out,
that was a fun night in the ER too...

Been there many times with similar stuff, little kid what can you say...

Steve, I hope that all went well with your Grandson. They are pretty resilient at that age.

one of my daughters loaded one nostril full of frozen peas( a terrible table trick I taught her and the ex NEVER forgave me for it ) , and they froze the snot in place and she had to wait for the whole lot to thaw out before she could blow it out . talk about a brain freeze

Kids that age are always going to get into stuff that they shouldn't. It's all a part of being a kid. Hopefully he will come out of this good as new.

Sorry to hear that Steve, kids are tough, prayers sent your way still!

Steve hope the little guy is ok.....

been there many times...3 boys - 2 girls...15 grandchildren.....

Wishing you the best with the little one. Kids will be kids!

I must be lucky, so far my son has only stuck an earring up his nose.... Luckily it was a cheap one that I was able to fish out with a magnet but I'm sure there's more to come.

He's fine and thanks. He was running around the next day like nothing happened. He's a handful and one of those kids you have to keep a eye on. He's not even three yet and the size of a five year old,in fact my five year old granddaughter who's small for her age told me she is afraid of him because he chased her with a wiffle ball bat. He got in trouble for that LOL.

Glad to hear he's ok in that regard lol. I was kinda like him only I was one of the small kids but was always getting into everything that I wasn't supposed to including swallowing coins. Wasn't much into fighting though but was pretty mean at times. Most of the mean times were just rambunctious playing that ended up hurting someone and then not understanding why my butt got tanned lol.

glad to hear he's ok, Steve.

Kids swallow coins all the time. if they swallow a quarter and then crap out two dimes and a nickel, that's when you should start to worry. lol
