Trailer Hitch Question

I have a 68 Charger R/T that I've had since 79 I wrecked it in 83. I'm fixing it after all these years. It has a trailer hitch on it that I was going to have rechromed. Question is was hitch a factory option or a dealer ad-on or what?

I found an A-35 code that says HD tow package but it was for 69

Even if it was a factory option, parts like that came in the trunk and were installed at the dealership.
Antenna masts, floor mats, trailer hitches, etc.

I haven't looked for markings yet. I know it don't look home made but I would like it to be back on the car when I get finished with it.

Tow package in 60’s doesn’t include a hitch or wiring. It includes a 26” radiator, 11x3 drum brakes, 3.23 gears, Sway bar on front, wider wheels, 5.5” instead of 5.0”. I had a 67 Belvedere 383 2bbl with trailer towing package on the window sticker.

The 1967 Belvedere owners manual shows a trailer hitch on page 46 and towing instructions on page 45. Does your 68 charger manual have anything like this?

I have 2 charger hitches, one is stamped 68 charger. and the other one is not stamped.

I installed many Draw Tite brand, bolt-on hitches years ago at the dealerships I worked at.
