Maybe a dumb question but what size of transmission cooler do I need to run for a 727 deep pan? Does pan size matter or just the usage? It will be mainly street performance with a possible run every now and then in street class.

Pan size not "that" big of a factor (but a deep pan will hold the fluid a little farther away from the hot internals) since Ga do get hot I'd run the biggest I could find, with a tran temp gauge.

I think most popular coolers are about 1/4 to 1/3 the area of the radiator. A deep pan will hold more fluid so the fluid will take longer to heat up - and I imagine it will also take longer too cool - so a larger cooler may be a benefit. High stall converters or heavy duty use will really heat up the fluid, so again, the larger cooler may not be a bad thing.

Thanks for the advice. How do you know what GVW to get then. I was thinking like around a 15 to 20 just to keep it cool, just not too cool. I figured that would be good for driving around town and highway use anyway. Let me hear what you think.
