I pulled this transmission out of the wife's car this weekend and need a little help with the identification. As far as I have been able to determine, it is a 727 out of an 86 van. It is currently in a '65 Sport Fury that we are restoring, with a 340 engine. The car originally had a 383 with a 727. As you can see the bell housing is cracked and has a notch either cut or broken out. If I can't weld it up I will need to find another unit. Thanks, and Happy New Year!!!

'86-'87 Truck
318 non-Lockup
Heavy duty extension housing
4 disc rear clutch
3 disc front clutch w/11 release springs
3 pinion front and rear planetaries
2.9 kick down lever

The cutout is probably for a crank position sensor.

Thanks, that is exactly what I needed to know.
