Transmission Pump Question

All, on the reaction shaft there are what looks like ball bearings (see pic). Are those supposed to move or spin at all (they don't currently).

Also on the pump there is a tiny indent (2nd pic). Anything to worry about - might have been there since it was made.

Balls are staked and do not move. The little indent will not be a problem.

They are plugs for galleries behind them.
