Trunk extension and quarter panel replacement

Hi. I need advice on replacing the trunk extension panels on my 67 GTX. I also need to replace or use patch panels on the rear of both 1/4 panels . Should I replace the trunk extensions first and use them to locate where the 1/4 panel patches need to be? Or install the 1/4 patch panels first and use their lower edge (lip) to locate where the trunk extension needs to be? The lower parts of the extensions and the 1/4 skins are completely gone on both sides so using what is already there to locate things is not an option.

I would hang the quarter panel patches temporarily first to help locate trunk extensions.
