i never thought the way to glue the weatherstrip was to be something hard to decide! I find that pretty much straight up.
I have used allways the yellow contact cement with sucess. I use the same contact cement for the vinyl top!
about the trunk WS. My car had the V shaped one as far I recall and have used the same since ever.
