Hello everyone. I am looking for help from all of you. I have a 68 Barracuda with a 383 that is missing the original carburetor. I have some 4426S carbs with J and K stamped months. Neither one has a tag for the day. I am hopeful that one of you has a 68 383 Charger, Coronet, or Road Runner with an engine assembly date of 10-23-67. If your engine was assembled around 10-23-67, what are the dates of your engine assembly and on the tag on your carb?

Thanks,
Craig

So you have a J7 or a K7? So September/October...The general rule of thumb is within 3 months prior to actual build date. So either one will work and all you need is the correct calendar day/year tag. Just mate that with either carb.

Call Scott Harms at Harms carb to get a tag....

Yes, they are dated J7 and K7. I am looking for the correct or a realistic calendar day to have a tag made. Scott recommends Brian Brady to do the tags.

Thanks,
Craig

Realistic is somewhere in that range....no one could prove otherwise...

My 69 GTX was built in 10/68. Unfortunately, the carb is sitting on the motor on the dyno at the machine shop. It is the original carb and has the original tag and is restored. I should be getting the motor back next week and I can tell you the calendar day on that tag. I have pictures but not of the tag right now....
