Hello, all! I'm trying to ID this block. It was in a '73 Charger that I picked up, and the seller said it was a 400. The numbers seem to suggest that it is a 361 (which obviously wouldn't be original), but I'm encountering some conflicting info on the interwebs.... Can anyone help me out here? I'm all googled out. Lol... Thank you!

The 3G138609 is the last eight of the car's vin. 3 is 73 model year and G is built in St. Louis.

You guys see why I'm having trouble? Lol... It would be great it it was a 1970 383, but the date stamp is '72, so.... ;)

as above, and 3G138609 is the last eight of the VIN#, June 9th 1972 casting date. Look near the boss by the distributer, you should find the engine build date as well.

Yes cast on 6/9/72 but is for the 73 model year which started in August thus the 73 vin.

As stated look for the pad in front of the drivers side head for more info.
