Will a factory A body adaptor fit a B body column without modification and is the cup diameter the same?.

Yes. I think they are the same part. E body will work too, but it is much longer. I've bought several E body units real cheap ($10-20), even very recently. For some reason the A/B body style is much more expensive. I paid $45 for one about 2 months ago and was happy to do it as that's about the cheapest I've seen one.

I had intended to start cutting down the E body ones and welding them back up after removing a section. Now I just need a MIG.......

Great. I have the Grant adaptor with the crappy rubber cover on my '73 and it just looks, well, crappy.

Yes, the adapter will fit 70 and up B-bodies because of the larger diameter steering column. You can make it fit the 69 and older with a little modification. I had around 20 of them a couple years ago but when I put them on my website, people just snatched them right up in a few months. Unfortunately I don't have any left.

A lot of E-body guys want them because they're shorter and it gets the steering wheel a little farther away from their belly.
